Browsing for inspiriation i found this sketch from two summers ago. It was a bicycle drawing,- drawn during a breather on a bike ride around my neighborhood.The new sketch is pastel on watercolor, about 9 x 12. I expect it to continue to morph into a final painting eventually.

Oregon Coast #17 Acrylic on panel 11 x 14 Wildwood Pastel 9 x 12 When the wild winds of an Oregon winter take hold my color tends to get bolder. It is my response I suppose to the unremitting greyness of winter, broken only by an occasional sunbreak. With so many long hours in my studio I have time to give free reign to this radical color impulse.

Oregon Coast watercolors 8 1/2 x 10 1/2I am planning a paint and camp at the coast as soon as weather turns a bit warmer and some of our house projects get completed. pastel sketch 9 x 12 I returned yesterday afternoon from an exhilerating few days of camp and paint in the Columbia River Gorge. While sunshine usually dominates this time of year, we had a downpour on Tuesday night and I was glad I had a warm van to sleep in. Never go camping in the Northwest without rain gear and sweats.
